The Journal Histochemistry and Cell Biology has announced to implement new submission guidelines for image presentation and image analysis, which have been published recently in Nature Methods by the international network Quality Assessment and Reproducibility for Instruments & Images in Light Microscopy (QUAREP-LiMi)-Working Group 12 – Image Analysis and Visualization .

WG 6 – Stage and Focus released its first version of the protocol “Repeatability of the XY positioning of motorized xy-tables of light microscopes“. The protocol is featured on protocols.io

The paper “Community-developed checklists for publishing images and image analyses” has been published in Nature Methods. You can access the publication here.
WG 15 – Objectives FLIM data analysis is complex, and a good understanding of the chosen method is required to ensure the collection and validation of quantitative data. WG15 will focus on different FLIM techniques and data analysis tools with the following aims: Define reliable FLIM standards for quality control and calibration. Develop protocols for instrument calibration and comparison across devices. Establish common metadata terms and checklists. Recommendations for sample preparation for FLIM Recommend data formats that allow data analysis
WG 14 – Objectives A stable environment is crucial to operate state of the art microscopes. Commercial instruments are designed to operate under specific room environment parameters, including temperature, humidity, vibration, dust, and electrical/electromagnetic or acoustical noise. It is important to adhere to these specifications to ensure accurate and reproducible results. Currently, it is unclear for the light microscopy community how to accurately and routinely measure these parameters and relate own measurements with the required specifications. WG14 aims to establish measurement protocols

The Working Group 5 – Lateral and Axial Resolution has recently welcomed a new member from Israel, Mr. Joseph Steinberger from the distinguished Weizmann Institute of Science. On behalf of the team, we extend a cordial welcome to him and we look forward to his active participation in our future endeavors. We are pleased to announce a new addition to our QUAREP-LiMi community, Mr. Wei-Chen Chu from Academia Sinica in Taiwan. We welcome him as we strive towards advancing the

WG 1 – Illumination Power published its second version of the protocol “Illumination Power, Stability and Linearity Measurements for Confocal and Widefield Microscopes”. The protocol is featured on protocols.io
The 6th general meeting of QUAREP-LiMi took place at the 26th of April 2023 from 3 to 6 pm in an online format. For more information on the content of the meeting see the agenda.
